Exhibition – „Faces of Asia“ in "Kowalski"
in Leipzig, Ferdinand-Rohde-Straße

On
the 8th of October the Exhibition "Faces of Asia" starts with
photographies of Jens Hoppe. For one year the young photographer lived
and worked in India. Several travels lead him through countries like
Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan. His pictures portray people in typical
every day situations.

Mountainfilmfestival Open Air on 2nd and 3rd Sep 2005 in Böhlitz nearby Wurzen, organized by www.ig-klettern-mittelsachsen.de with moviemakers, mountaneers, the mountaneering-equipment shops tapir und sherpa from Leipzig, the Canoespecialist Franke from Leipzig and lots of surprises. It was a very nice evening to camp and enjoy nepalese vegetable soop, to climb and watch movies at night. Hundreds of people had a great time. A great success for the organizers Peter-Hugo Scholz and Holger Kühne!
Nepalmed in Nepal Information: In the current issue of the half-yearly newspaper of the German-Nepali-Society has been printed an article about us. As well the article from "Deutsches Ärzteblatt (down below) was printed again.
Nepalmed in Deutsches Ärzteblatt 31/32 (8.8.2005) with a 2-page article about Amppipal. We received loads of letters and questions from doctors and different companies. We will organize a Camp for Amppipal with specialists in March 2006.
Nepalmed in Leipziger Volkszeitung, Lokalseite Muldental, 30.08.2005 with an article about our 5th year of existence.
Berlin-Visit 7.-9.July 2005:

On
the occasion of the 59th birthday of the king of Nepal in the
palace "Festungsgraben" in Berlin had been invited for
talks with the chairmen of the German-Nepali-Society and the
ambassador of Nepal in his residency Silke and Arne
Drews, Sylvie Eckstein and Micha
Blume .

| Besides very interesting talks we had the possibility to film ambassador S.E. Mdan Kumar Bhattarai and the honorary ambassador Ram Pratap Thapa. |

Finally
we had the chance to interview the owner of the Restaurant
Buddha Haus, who is as well the chairman of the Society of
Nepali in Germany.
We were supported by blume-film. |
In the beginning of 2005 we collected 10000.- Euro for the BConstruction of a road from Amppipal Hospital to the village during several lectures from Dr. Starke throughout Germany. With these funds the construction can be started after the harvest in December 2005. Furthermore the toilets were reconstructed, roofs and windows renovated and walls painted.
For a new Colposcope in the Kathmandu Model Hospital (gynaecological examination chair) we collected 2004 and 2005 3000.- Euro. It has been purchased and is already in use.

Membersmeeting 3rd June 2005:
The following resolutions have been
passed:
1. The send Students / Medical Staff and Doctors are obliged, to become
a member of Nepalmed e.V.
2. The membershipfee from now on will be collected only via bank
transaction, because it takes great effort to ask everyones fees.
